MUD 5 Trail Project Update
Friday, 17 July 2026
Dear Treeline Residents,
We would like to provide an update regarding the proposed
MUD 5 trail project.
After months of discussions and planning, the project will
not be moving forward due to legal requirements that could not be reconciled
between both parties.
From the beginning, the Board made it clear that preserving
Treeline as a private community was a non-negotiable requirement. Our position
was that any trail connection through our neighborhood could not provide public
access into Treeline.
During negotiations, MUD 5 initially agreed to this
condition. However, when the final agreement was sent to legal counsel for
drafting, it became clear that, because the project was being funded with
public dollars, MUD 5 is legally required to maintain public access and could
not include a provision restricting access to Treeline.
As a result, the parties were unable to reach a final
agreement.
While this decision means Treeline will forgo approximately
$300,000 in improvements and funding, your Board believes protecting the
privacy, security, and character of our gated community must remain our highest
priority.
Although we are disappointed that this opportunity could not
be realized, we remain committed to pursuing future projects that enhance our
community while preserving the standards and expectations that make Treeline a
desirable place to live.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
